REVIEW NÅRDEGAIST ALBUM GAIMALD
Kategori: 1-REVIEWS, BLACK METAL

From the whispering sea it rises.
A place for Gutar and Nårdegaist, bleak, desolate and windswept.
When the rain comes, it comes horizontally,
always straight in your face, frozen and as sharp needles it penetrates your skin.
The Gutasaga tells us the origin of this place.***
The first man to put his feet on the island Gutland was a man named Tjelvar.
Then Gutland was bound by dark powers, so that during the day it fell and at night it was up.
With this man the first fire came to the country and then never fell.
The people believed in the hollows and the mounds.
They sacrificed their sons and daughters and their cattle.
Everywhere sacrificial feasts with food and drink.
Gutland, the highest rate of sacrifices in the whole country.
***
It is out of this Nårdegaist is rising on today's island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea.
Someone awakened the old dark forces
and yanked Nårdegaist out from an old forgotten hollow or stonemound.

that puts Gotland Black Metal on a larger map than the island.
It's multifaceted with varying pace and varying guitars.
Sometimes just a ringing meditative sound and the music cradle you.
To give an explanation of the texts is an impossibility for me.
We let them be secret and the song and singing gets spellbound.
The names of the songs are, however, taken from the darkest darkness of Gotland.
There are people, places, natural phenomena and historical years.
Because there is such a breadth and depth in the music, it only grows the more you listen.
If you like Black Metal, I can warmly recommend Nårdegaist debut album.
If you want to watch them live which I absolutely want, see their facebook link below.
