OZZY THE COVERBAND - INTERVIEW & LIVEGIG REVIEW

Kategori: 1-REVIEWS, 2-INTERVIEWS, HARD ROCK

Bob at SMM interview with Marcus Rubin and Morgan Zocek before the gig at Hammersmith, Hammer Bar in Visby.

It all began with Marcus pulled together a team and played on Morgan's birthday, then it has evolved into becoming Ozzy The Coverband.

2004 Sweden Rock Tribute was created under the name Battle of the tribute bands.
There competed bands themselves up against each other to get to the final.

2005 final was held at the Sweden Rock Festival and The Ozzy cover band was finally the Winner.

Now you have written two original songs so now you're not just a cover band, now you are also a tribute band. What are your ambitions with the band and your new songs?

The songs we wrote to Ozzy so that he could take them on a album or in the repertoire.

But the response has been a little cool from there. We've posted the songs on Youtube (link below) and play them ourselves now.

The aim of the band is to play and have fun but we want that Ozzy would take a song we've written :)

If you only get to play one Ozzy song at the gig, which will it be?

(Here it becomes difficult hmm, but eventually they boil it down to two tracks)

Mr. Crowley and Bark at the Moon it will be. If only one there must be a lottery :)

Which Ozzy era is a favorite period?

It's the 80's with Randy Rhoads, clearly.

If you get be committed to a historical Ozzy gig, which will it be?

March 18, 1982 Knoxville, Tennessee. Randy Rhoads last gig. (The day after is the death of Randy, in a plane crash, the same date as this gig)

If you get to play before a packed crazy arena where everyone is there for you, what is it then?

Budokan Tokyo Japan, clearly

Now you place the band on the Swedish Metal Militia Music Map, good luck;)

Thanks for the interview and good luck with the concert!

SMM short live gig reviews:

These gentlemen are crazy, good and deliver full speed all the time.

It is well together, tight and technical skill is high on all members.

Courtship to the public comes with Ackuratess of a crazy Seven behind the drums.

As the other members aswell!

Morgan delivers every song and you just waiting for some passages to see how he untangles them. He makes you not disappointed, I promise.

Sampo grinds on rock hard at bass and are not as "crazy" on stage as the others but he contributes as much on the bass, and the female audience was quickly to operate the camera ;)

Marcus with his acting background takes us back to the 80's and if you have a beer too much, you probably would Think F*** it is Ozzy in place and sings for real.
